Manchester United are set to complete their first official sale of the summer with Alejandro Garnacho joining Chelsea.
Alejandro Garnacho was one of five players cast out by Ruben Amorim this summer, but it has taken Ineos until the final week of the transfer window to finalise a sale.
Manchester United wanted £50 million for Garnacho, and there was interest from the Premier League and clubs across Europe, but the Carrington graduate only wanted to join Chelsea.
The Red Devils have spent close to £200 million on new signings but are yet to bring in any cash through sales.
As an academy graduate, Garnacho’s sale will be a huge PSR boost, and now a fee has finally been agreed.

Alejandro Garnacho deal agreed with Chelsea
After weeks of negotiations between the two clubs, a final agreement has finally been reached.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano published the ‘Here we go’ for Garnacho to join Chelsea, with the final fee expected to be around £40 million.
It means Garnacho’s sale will rank fourth on United’s biggest sales of all time.
Garnacho is set to sign a seven-year contract at Chelsea, taking his stay at Stamford Bridge to 2032.
The player will travel for a medical and to finalise the deal, with an official announcement expected to follow shortly from both clubs.
Man United include sell-on fee in Alejandro Garnacho deal
So far, United have raised £25m from sell-on fees this summer, and it has been a successful avenue to continue cashing in on players who left Old Trafford.
Garnacho is an investment opportunity for Chelsea, with an expectation that the Blues will likely look to sell him on for a profit later down the line.
If that is the case, United will also profit. According to The Athletic, a 10% sell-on clause is included in the agreement for Garnacho.
Assuming Garnacho’s deal goes through without any issues, his return to Old Trafford could come as soon as next month when Chelsea face United in the Premier League.
