Manchester United youngster Shea Lacey scored an outrageous solo goal for the under-18s.
If you aren’t familiar with the name Shea Lacey, you soon will be. The youngster is regarded as one of the brightest talents to come through Manchester United’s academy in years.
That may sound like hyperbole considering the hall of fame names to come through Carrington, but Lacey has the potential to reach the same levels.
It’s early days, he is still at the formulative stage of his United career, but already, he is showing why there are such high hopes.

Shea Lacey wondergoal
Shea Lacey showed what all the fuss is about with an incredible solo goal as Manchester United’s under-18s drew 2-2 last night against Wolves.
The opening goal of the game wasn’t bad either. Sam Mather collected a backheel from James Scanlon, dribbled into the penalty area, shimmied, and drilled the ball low into the bottom corner.
Mather had just returned from injury and after an assist last week, this was a good way to continue.
There was better to come from Lacey, who was introduced as a second half substitute with the score poised at 1-1.
After receiving a ball from full-back Jayden Kamason on the wing, he surged into the penalty area, taking on the Wolves players in his path.
Lacey kept the ball in play on the goal line before scooping the ball over the goalkeeper for an outrageous finish.
United would later concede an equaliser for the game to finish at 2-2. The team rank third in the under-18s north.
Shea Lacey making progress
Shea Lacey is enjoying a breakthrough season for Manchester United’s under-18 side. He turned 16 earlier this month but made his debut earlier in the season when just 15.
This was his second goal of the season, he also has two assists. He will play an even bigger role next season, which would normally be his first team with the 18s.
Lacey has recently been on international duty with England’s under-16s, helping them to a youth tournament win earlier this month. Now Manchester United are benefitting from having him back.
